One of the latest banking news today is the stepping down of Lazaro de Mello Brandao. He served in the banking industry for at least 25 years, making him the oldest chairman who has served the chair role for Bradesco, one of Brazil’s largest banks. This resignation has triggered a lot of discussion on who is going to succeed his position, but it seems clear that the right candidate for the job is Mr. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi.
Who is Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi?
Luiz Cappi is right now the Chief Executive Officer of Bradesco, who started serving the company as a young clerk in 1943. He was only sixteen years old when he first started working for the company, and right now he is the candidate that suits the role of Chairman. He now carries two roles with him, as CEO and Chairman, as the process of transition is still taking place, but there’s no doubt that he can serve the role in the most competent way that the bank requires of him.
What’s Next For Bradesco Bank
The new leadership from Luiz will bring a lot of good changes to the bank. Being the CEO from 1981 to 1999, Luiz remains to be a top-ranking leader that has full-dedication to the development of the bank from the bottom to up. This new change is in line with the changes in Bradesco’s shares, which right now falls to 1.2 percent in Sau Paolo. It’s maintained to be up to almost 39 percent in its year-to-date status.
Bradesco will also expect a lot of changes in its bylaws under the new leadership of Luiz. There will be significant reform in the maximum age for the CEOs to serve in the business, which will now be 67 from 65. This change will produce a lot of opportunities for the future CEOs to take leadership of the company even at a senior age.

When he was finished with that position at the end of December 23, 2009, he led the Odontoprev S.A.
Cappi also honed his leadership skills when he became Internal Director for the renowned and established Banco Bradesco S.A. This feat is not surprising since he got a good formal education and background when he went to University of Sao Paolo’s School of Sociology and Politics. He took a post-graduate degree there but at the same time received recognition from the same school because of his dedication for the Sciences, Philosophy, Arts and Languages department of the college.
